What a Weekend!

February 1, 2009

This weekend I celebrated my 28th birthday! Not the most momentous age, but I’m just happy I’m still holding on to my twenty-something status. My friends and I know how to throw down on birthdays- we celebrate! We had dinner at a wonderful Italian place, and then headed out to paint the town. We danced, and laughed at other people dancing, and I actually rode a bull (a fake one). Those things are harder than they look.

Today, after we had slept in and recovered from our night out, I met up with some awesome 20 Something Blogger ladies at Noshville for lunch! We had a great time chatting over yummy deli food and getting to know each other. Bloggers are just fun people. :)

Then, just when you thought the weekend couldn’t possibly get more exciting: WE GOT A PUPPY!

Yes, a PUPPY.

I have been bugging the hubby about this for oh, about 6 months now. And we finally did it. We got a 10 week old Westie, and we named him Newman. Yes, we are nerdy Seinfeld fans. Plus, when he pees on the carpet, we can imitate Jerry and go “Newman!” with our fist up in the air. We decided at about 4pm that we would get a puppy, and raced to the humane society just to find it closed. So we darted over to the Apple Store and mooched off their internet to search for a Westie who needed a home. We found one WAY north of town, so we hopped in the car and took a little road trip to the boonies (why do people who have 7,000 pets always live in the boonies?), and picked up our little guy. Here’s a sneak preview of him sniffing around his new house (and my SUPER annoying pet mommy voice- wow I didn’t know I was capable of sounding so ridiculous.) Enjoy!

Oh my goodness, Hilary! He is PRECIOUS! I love Westies. I can’t wait for him to get old enough for a playdate with Annie. I envision lots of fun at the dog park in our future!

Thanks ladies! He is definitely one of the cutest things I’ve seen in my life. Last night the husband said “he has completely blown apart the cuteness barrier”. Mommyhood has been great so far– he is learning and getting more on a schedule every day. I wish he could be potty trained, but never grow up and lose his puppy cuteness!
